Hyatt House Tallahassee Capitol - University

We had an amazing stay at this hotel in Tallahassee! The place is incredibly comfortable and feels very safe. The rooms are spacious, clean , and absolutely worth every penny we spent. Breakfast was decent—mostly American-style options, but varied enough to suit different tastes. What truly stood out was the staff. Everyone was friendly, respectful, and extremely helpful. Although check-in was delayed by about 30 minutes, the front desk staff apologized sincerely and offered complimentary snacks and free parking to make up for it. That kind of thoughtful service is rare and truly appreciated. If you’re a large family planning to visit Tallahassee, I highly recommend this hotel. Our room had a full kitchen and fridge, which made it perfect for a longer stay.

Had a great experience at this hotel. The room was spacious and very comfortable, with a full kitchen, a couch and sitting area, and a TV that swivels between the living room and bedroom. I stopped here after a long drive and I’m glad I chose this place. I’d definitely come back if I’m in the area again. Free parking on-site. P.S. The only downside was the coffee in the lobby it was cold..

The staff were very friendly and helpful. When I lost my travel case and came back to ask about it, they were understanding and allowed me to check the room again. Thanks again, Tasha! Overall, it was a great stay. The hotel was clean, had nice amenities, and was conveniently located near Collegetown.

Stayed mid Jan. positives: very clean, modern, everything functional and in good shape, staff is good and friendly, included breakfast was ok - standard stuff, good quiet location a few blocks away from the bustle, comfortable bed, continuous fan helped with sleep and peace and quiet, easy to cast your device to TV. Negatives: low water pressure in shower, early it took 8 minutes to start to get hot water and need to take longer shower, $25 per day surprise parking fee added, train and construction at train station was noticeable but not a big deal, one cockroach. Didn’t use pool or gym, pool was heated.

Pretty good stay overall at Hyatt House Tallahassee. The hotel looks fresh and modern, and the lobby/bar area has a nice vibe bright, open, and actually feels inviting. Staff were friendly every time I interacted with them. My room was spacious and had a separate living area, which I really appreciated. Everything looked clean at first glance, though there were a couple small things that could’ve been better a tiny bit of dust on shelves and a half-used dish soap bottle. Not dealbreakers, just little details that stand out in a newer hotel. The bathroom was big and well-designed, but again, some minor maintenance issues (light rust on a fixture, slow drain). Nothing gross, just signs they need to stay on top of upkeep. Breakfast was decent but the hours felt early, especially for travelers arriving late or attending events. Also, some items weren’t restocked toward the end of breakfast time unless you asked. Location is fantastic close to FSU, the stadium, restaurants, and you can even walk to parts of College Town. Parking can be a little confusing the first time, but once you figure out the layout, it’s fine. Despite the small issues, it’s still a comfortable, safe, convenient hotel. I’d stay again, but I hope they keep up with maintenance since the hotel is still fairly new.

Accidental and awesome find. Had to make a last minute trip to Tallahassee, wanted a separate room for my daughter, so I impulsively booked Hyatt House based on reviews. I have never been to the Railroad Square area and I absolutely love it. The hotel was extremely clean and well attended to. The staff was great the whole 4 days we were there, I would definitely return.

Beautiful hotel & super clean! The service is absolutely amazing, Athaiya & Ja’Liyah are honestly the best thing about the hotel! They are so sweet and accommodating. I would stay here a million times over thanks to their amazing customer service. Love this place!!

We had an excellent stay and would definitely stay here again. The biggest reason for that is the staff. They all seem to have good attitudes and were always so helpful. Some of the people I’d like to recognize are Ja’Liyah, Athaiya, the nice lady who was mopping the floors when we left Monday morning and Hector the maintenance person. We didn’t have any maintenance issues, but he saved my husband from being in the dog house by brining a bag to him that fell off our cart when we were checking out. That exemplifies the staff here. They try to go the extra mile for you here. We had a 1 BR suite and loved the layout of the room. There were 2 TVs, a fridge, small kitchen sink, stove top and dishwasher. There was also a decent size island which we used a lot. Loved the office-type chair there. Very comfy! The AC worked well but was a bit noisy when it started up. The bed and bath linens were very nice and the bed slept comfortably. We loved the shades, as there were two types…black out shades to lower at bedtime, and a slightly see-through shade that offers privacy but still allows light in. My only recommendation would be for housekeeping to be a bit more thorough. We had to have our carpet vacuumed upon arrival and there were quite a few small hairs in the shower. But, housekeeping and the front desk were both very responsive when we called down to have the carpet vacuumed, and to me, attitude is 90% of the experience at a hotel. Mistakes happen, but how a hotel responds to issues is more important and the staff here responded very well. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and offered eggs, sausage, waffles, cheesy grits (which were sooo delicious), breads, juices and coffee. We ate at the hotel our last evening and that food was very good! We had the turkey pesto club and the grilled chicken-bacon sandwich. Both were very tasty and we loved the selection of beers and ciders. There really is something for everyone here. They even offered a chicken Caesar salad. This was by far one of THE BEST stays we have had at a Tallahassee hotel. Not only is it within walking distance to the FSU stadiums and both the FSU and FAMU campuses, but it offer some of the nicest accommodations we’ve ever had in Tallahassee.
